《カウンセリングの基本的な考え方》
カウンセリングでは、他者を変えたり、過去の出来事を消したりすることはできません。悩んでいることの答えをカウンセラーが占い師のように答えることもありません。基本的には、クライアントさんが自分の内側に目を向けて気づきを得ていく時間です。カウンセラーは、答えを示すのではなく気づきを得る道筋をサポートしていく役割です。
《自分のペースで焦らずゆっくり話そう》
カウンセリングでなくとも、初対面の人と話すのは大なり小なり緊張するものです。また、会話自体に苦手意識がある場合、思うように言葉が出てこないかもしれません。
大切な話を打ち明ける場面で緊張して話が前後してしまったり、文脈がまとまらなくなるのは当然のことです。
カウンセラーに自分をよく見せようとする必要はありません。リラックスして話しやすい環境を整えてお待ちしております。ありのままの気持ちを、焦らずゆっくりと話していきましょう。
《沈黙の時間も気にしない》
沈黙が気まずい、怖い。沈黙を苦手としていませんか？
カウンセリングで大切なのは、自分自身と向き合う時間を持つことです。
ときには、沈黙の末に発する言葉こそが本当に話したい言葉かもしれません。カウンセラーは沈黙も大切な時間だと考えています。
カウンセラーに気を遣う必要はありません。落ち着いて話せる空間のなかで、あなたのペースで話して下さい。
《余裕があればカウンセリングの前後に振り返りをする》
カウンセリングの前に、お悩みのきっかけやこれまでの経緯、カウンセリングでどうなりたいかを考えてみたり、カウンセリングを受け始めたらその日のカウンセリングで話したことや感じたこと、少し時間が経ってから浮かんだ思いなどを振り返るのも悪くない手です。もしできそうなら、文字にして書いたりするのもいいですね。
しかし、これはあくまでも余裕があれば、という程度で大丈夫です。特に準備せずカウンセリングに臨んでもまったく問題ありません。
《カウンセリングの時間を有効に使うには》
カウンセリングの時間は限られています。雑談も大切な時間ですが時間を有効に使いたいと考えた時にカウンセリング毎にその日取り組みたいテーマを一つ決めてお話ししただけると良いかもしれません。
